Abstract (EN)

Turks were belonged to Tengrism, Budism, Manihism, Judaism and Christianity before they embraced Islam. They didn't abandon the cultural aspects of these religions even after they embraced Islam. They lived their lifestyle while they were adapting these features to Islam. The influence of some religious orders like Yesevism, Hurufism, Babaism, Kalenderism and Rafizism which was formed by brain power that was brought from Central Asia to Anatolia can be seen on the formation of Alawism and Bektashism. We can reach numerous folklore texts in this city where Alevist and Bektashi population is dense. We studied fourteen Alevist-Bektashist settlements in Kutahya's central district and fourteen in other districts and analyzed ten Ocaks. We had the chance of analyzing 'Nefes' (Bektashi breath), Duvaz and elegies in terms of verbal texture, social environment and conditions. The Ocaks that resourced our study are Sultan Sarı İsmail, Sultan Seyyid Ali, Pir Ahmet, Sultan Cemal/Kemal, Işık Çakır, Hüseyin Gazi, Koçubaba, Sucaettin Veli, Hamza Sheikh, Father Ali Koç. Keywords: Propher Ali Cem ceremony, Kütahya Alevism, Nefes, Performance Theory
