Abstract (EN)

Rapid and stunning growth in technology influences cultural background successively as in life's every corner and takes the polyculture of mankind's previous ages to a universal monoculture. This situation establishes an environment for a quick changing and disappearing of folkloric elements. In our study of "Kütahya-Altıntaş Folklore", the whole material and moral folklore works that the local people have transferred from past till present are aimed to be detected by investigating the aforementioned cultural elements with folklore methods. It is seen that the area of Altıntaş that has not been a subject for any folkloric investigation before is situated as a typical Central West Anatolia settlement. The acquired findings confirm that the region has a wide area, and show that there is a special folklore still kept alive today. The study formed in six chapters is anticipated that the acquired findings become a resource for the following researches by recording the folkloric wealth of Altıntaş.
