İn the press of Kütahya Turkey's accession process to the NATO (1948-1952)

Communistic Soviet Union that followed imperialist politics after the World War 2 started to threat Turkey. Western countries sought an alliance against this super power, which was also a threat for Europe, for the purpose of mutual defense, and The North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) was founded with support and effort of USA. In the period that the world with two poles started to be formed, NATO alliance emerged as unique formation to balance the invasion of communistic Soviet Union. Therefore, the one of the most important foreign politics goals for Turkey, who had difficult times because of economical and martial situations, was to be included NATO alliance. Eventually, Turkey officially joined NATO with Korean War in the international conjuncture that arose from security benefits of Western Countries. In this article, the entry process of Turkey to NATO was addressed in terms of Kütahya Press. It was stated how Kütahya press interpreted this subject, how events were informed to Kütahya folks, and how these subjects, especially Korean War, were cited to local folks. In this period, it was important how Kütahya press presented this subject as local to Kütahya folks when it was considered that there was no communication opportunity except radio and local press for the most of Kütahya folks. It was studied how the politics of Turkey that was a new democracy country were cited to cities in Anatolia, in particular to Kütahya folks, in this subject, and it was tried unfurl how an international subject was seen by a local press.
