The Mathematical modeling and the suggestions to solve for decreasing air pollution in Kutahya

THE MATHEMATICAL MODELING AND THE SUGGESTIONS TO SOLVE FOR DECREASING AIR POLLUTION IN KÜTAHYA Oğuzhan ERBAŞ Mechanical Engineering, M.S.Thesis, 2001 Thesis Supervisor: Assoc.Prof.Dr.Ramazan KÖSE SUMMARY Kütahya has been met with an important air pollution problem in recent years. Air pollution in Kütahya has been a serious problem threating people health and environmental conditions. A part of this problem depends on the factors which we can't certainly change like geographical and meteorological conditions and settlement state of Kütahya. The other part of this problem depends on the factors which will be optimized like fuel properties and burning systems used in accommodations and traffic concentration in central city. In this study, with the air of the definition of precautions for obtaining and decreasing the factors affecting air pollution, firstly, climate and tophographical properties of the city, fuel and burning techniques used have been determined. Secondly, the regresion analyses of the relationship of meteorological and emission properties have been made in the based on regions by a statistical package program (name of SPSS) and mathematical models of these have been established. The good agreement between the results obtained from models and measurement done. As a result of this, the extreme deviations in some points have been occured because of taking from only one point of meteorological data or the measurement faults. Moreover, with fuel and burning systems used in Kütahya, the inqueries related to building features have been made, flue gas measurements have been made and evalvated in offical buildings in central city and some suggestions have been presented.
