Abstract (EN)

A large portion of the background radiation dose to which humans are exposed originates from the Earth's crust. Radioactive elements with long half-lives, such as uranium, thorium, and potassium, are found in the Earth's crust and contribute to the radiation dose humans exposed in various ways. These long half-lived radioactive elements are also transferred from the soil to nutrients. In this study, U-238, Th-232 and K-40 concentrations of 14 samples belonging to 8 different types of nuts consumed in Kütahya province were examined using 3x3 NaI (Tl) detectors and annual effective ingestion dose was calculated. The activity values and calculated dose values of the nut samples were compared with the literature.
