Abstract (EN)
The study area to the west of Kütahya, Eskişehir is Kırgıll is located 3 km. of road. Tuff tuff in the region with heavy Phrygian valleys are used as a natural cold storage and caves. So far, no evidence of any studies on the properties of the tuff in the region. Our work in the region tuff carved from natural cold storage 25-30 cm in length and 9,4 cm. in diameter, 12 cores were taken. Then, the characterization of one of these experiments core 9,4 cm. in length was prepared by cutting two pieces of cores for use in heat treatment equivalent to the other test. Characterization core K1, K2, K3 ......... ..K12 coded form. If the heat treatment temperature for each core, including three core K1-900, K2-900, K3-900; K4-1000, K5-1000, SK6-1000; K7-1100, K8-1100, K9-1100 and K10-1200, K11-1200, K12-1200 coded form. K1-900; 900 Code represents the core K1 is equivalent traded in temperature. Heat treatment 900, 1000, 1100 and 1200 until the core temperature of the muffle furnace 10 ° C / min. heating the cores After 1 minute at this temperature realized by cooling to ambient temperature the furnace. Characterization and thermal processing physical properties described making way below the core of (bulk density, specific gravity, weight, water absorption, volume of water absorption, capillary water absorption, porosity), compressive strength, chemical, mineralogical and morphological and thermal analyzes (XRF, XRD , optical microscopy, SEM, TG-DTA) made changes in these features with the characteristics of tuff and heat treatment is determined. Around 48% of tuff to have porosity, porosity in 1100 and 11% and 63 1200° C temperature has been reduced. As a result, the compressive strength at this temperature for 7 MPa, respectively 12 and 46 MPa are reached. The XRD results analyzed montmorillonite and mica minerals, is seen feldspar and quartz. In the XRD results of montmorillonite peak at 1000 ° C it is lost. In the 1200 ° C it is seen that disappearance of the peak of mica and feldspar. At 1200 ° C increased the glassy phase thought and leucit corona formation is observed. Keywords: Heat treatment, Porosity, Sem, sintering, Tuff, Xrd, Xrf.
