Abstract (EN)
This study focuses on the religious attention, reactions and positions of the six leading poets of the Ikinci Yeni poetry movement (İlhan Berk, Turgut Uyar, Edip Cansever, Cemal Süreya, Ece Ayhan and Sezai Karakoç) based on their poetic discourse. Starting from this focal point, the poems and prose of the mentioned poets have been meticulously examined and symbolic views, explicit discourses or allusions have been revealed specific to the monotheistic religions. The first stage of the study was determined as emphasizing the elements such as the encompassing of religion, its appearance as a symbol and its dimensions. Besides, the tense line between modernity and religion, which directly concerns the poets discussed, was emphasized, and determinations were made about the transformation of Turkey in this sense. Since the poets are at the most important thresholds of Turkish modernization, this background study has also been a guide in terms of the direction of the study. In addition, it is underlined that religion is one of the important parameters of today's modernist aesthetics, emphasizing the ancientness of the relationship between religion and literature. In this direction, the position of the sacred in the face of modernist aesthetics has been discussed in detail by making use of the possibilities of the sociology or psychology of religion. Religion, sometimes as a nurturing element for poets' aesthetics, and often as a deformed field; is an important point of attention for the Ikinci Yeni, which is one of the most important moves of Turkish poetry. Both the formal savings of the poets and the patterns they created on the basis of content led to rich interpretations; It is read with the titles determined in the axis of Judaism, Christianity and Islam. As a result, the poetic appearance of the sacred, its vital effect on it, and sometimes its deformation are the main axis of this thesis.
