The North Iraq region and central government relation with in the context of the energy sources

This study aims to examine the energy relations between the Central Government of Iraq and the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG). Iraq's rich energy resources, along with the global powers' desire to benefit from these resources, the KRG's intention to control the refineries within its own territory, and the Central Government's perception of any autonomous formation within the national borders as a threat, have led to energy-related disputes between the parties. In this context, the first chapter addresses the concept of energy, the second focuses on the global importance of Middle Eastern oil, the third discusses the strategic significance of Northern Iraq in Middle Eastern energy politics, and the final chapter explores the energy relations between the Central Government of Iraq and the KRG.
