Comparison of Classical-RTK and Network-RTK measurement methods in coastal regions

Abstract (EN)

Since the beginning of human life, human beings have wanted to know their position and have therefore tried to find out where they are and where they are going. Researches and inventions that have shaped this situation have followed one another. The most remarkable of these inventions is GPS (Global Positioning Systems). Positioning by satellites later grew to form the GNSS (Global Navigation Satellite Systems) system. While Static surveying and Classical-Real Time Kinematic surveying methods have been used more for position determination studies, the Network-RTK surveying method, which has recently become increasingly widespread, has attracted much attention. In this study, a research on "Comparison of Classical-RTK and Network-RTK surveying methods in Coastal Regions" was conducted. Previously, the position accuracies obtained with these GNSS measurement methods have been investigated in the inner regions of the network formed by TUSAGA-Active points, but not in the edges. In this study, measurements were made at the edges of the network and the accuracy between Classical-RTK and Network-RTK was investigated. For this purpose, two separate study areas with a surface area of approximately 3.078 km2 and 1.346 km2 were established in Aydın-Didim and Muğla-Fethiye in the coastal region and 12 point locations were determined. When a base was created between AYD2-DIDI-MUG1 and FETH-KAAS-FINI fixed TUSAGA-Active points, N4, N5, N6, IN1, IN2, IN3 points were located in the inner part of the network structure and N1, N2, N3, DN1, DN2, DN3 points were located in the outer part of the network structure. Static, Classical-RTK and Network-RTK measurement methods were used at 12 points in the study areas in both regions. First of all, static measurements were made at 12 points and these measurement values were accepted as exact measurement values and the Classical-RTK measurement method was made according to these measurement values. The differences of the static measurement values and the measurement values obtained by Classical-RTK and Network-RTK measurement methods were taken respectively. These measurement differences were analyzed and compared in various aspects. When the measurement differences were analyzed, it was seen that the average difference of 9 measurement points for Classical-RTK was 0.0489 m horizontally and 0.0382 m vertically; the average difference of 12 measurement points for Network-RTK was 0.1678 m horizontally and 0.0382 m vertically, and according to these results, the measurement values obtained with the Classical-RTK measurement method were closer to the static measurement method.
