Abstract (EN)
The objective of this study is to explore the significance and results of the use of lean project management schemes across small and medium-sized enterprises. The research utilized the qualitative method to analyze the ideas and experiences held by managers and stakeholders with respect to lean project management. This methodology provided a detailed understanding of the application of lean principles to project management practices, facilitating a thorough examination of specific case studies that employed these principles during project implementation. The data collection was conducted through semi-structured interviews with 11 professionals in different industries. The data was managed and analyzed using the MAXQDA 2020 package. It helped organize the interviews in a way that made thematic analysis possible, allowing to outline patterns in the ways that lean project management was used during the project's execution as well as often encountered issues. The study revealed several key findings, revealing significant benefits such as cost savings, improved team morale, and enhanced operational efficiency. Key findings also include the critical role of effective communication, strategic alignment, and adaptability in overcoming challenges and ensuring sustainable growth. Also, resistance to change and the need for cultural adaptation came up as barriers to effective lean project management adoption. The research highlights the potential of lean principles to drive innovation, streamline processes, and foster a culture of continuous improvement in SMEs. From a managerial standpoint, the study offers top-level managers and project managers useful information on how to use and maintain lean project management practices to optimize results and resource utilization. The paper discusses the potential of lean project management to revolutionize project management and offers guidance on avoiding common mistakes made by practitioners of lean approaches in their pursuit of project productivity gains.
