Abstract (EN)
In this study, the effect of two different silanes and paraffin on the physical and mechanical properties of the boards were investigated. In the production phase of the test plates, [3-(2-Aminoethylamino) propyl] trimethoxysilane (silane A), 3-aminopropyltriethoxysilane (silane B) and liquid paraffin were added in 3 different ratios of 1.5%, 2.5%, 3.5%. The effects of the use of silane and paraffin on the mechanical properties of the obtained boards such as water absorption (WA), thickness swelling (TS), density and mechanical properties such as internal bonding strength (IB), bending strength (BS) and modulus of elasticity in bending (MOE) were investigated. According to the results obtained, the use of the additional additive has reduced the rate of water uptake and thickness swelling compared to the control sample. The highest improvement value for the 24 hour WA compared to the control sample was calculated as 55% with the use of 3.5% paraffin. IB, MOE and they were found as BS have also increased with the use of additional additives. This increase was not linear and 44%, 16.2% and 38.7% for IB, MOE and BS respectively, compared to the control sample. The use of 3-aminopropyltriethoxysilane was found to give the best results in terms of physical and mechanical properties.
