Abstract (EN)
Aim: "Liposuction" surgery is an operation that can be applied for both treatment and aesthetic purposes. It is among the most applied plastic surgeries worldwide. The operation, which is performed by infiltrating a special solution to the targeted body area, has many complications due to the fact that it is a surgical procedure. The aim of this study is to examine the effect of the procedure performed on patients undergoing "liposuction" surgery on the liver functions of the patients in the postoperative period. As a result of the data obtained, it was aimed to obtain quantitative results about the effect of "liposuction" surgery on liver function tests. Materials and Methods: This study was carried out retrospectively and the preoperative and postoperative ALT(Alanine transaminase), AST(Aspartate transaminase), ALP(Alkaline phosphatase) and GGT(Gamma-glutamyltransferase) tests of 33 patients who met the criteria were evaluated with the amount of solution infiltrated during the surgery. The content of the solution infiltrated into the "liposuction" targeted area during the surgery consists of "ringer lactate" solution, epinephrine and lidocaine. The contents of the solutions used in all patients are the same and the amount of solution is different. The laboratory results of the serum blood samples taken from the patients on the 1st day before and after the operation were examined and compared. The obtained results were evaluated with the SPSS(Statistical Package for Social Sciences) program and statistical analysis was performed. Results: As a result of the study, it was determined that the amount of solution infiltrated into the patients was correlated with the change in serum ALT level. In addition, it was observed that the preoperative and postoperative changes in enzyme levels were statistically significant. Postoperative serum levels of all enzymes were found to be within normal limits. In the data obtained as a result of the Wilcoxon test, a statistically significant difference was found between preop and postop in terms of all enzymes (GGT, ALP, AST, ALT) (p<0.001, p=0.001, p=0.02, p=0.009). Conclusions: The maximum amount of infiltrated solution among the evaluated patients was 5000 ml, and although the serum enzyme levels in the patients changed after the surgery, the change levels remained at the normal serum levels. In the light of the data we have, it was determined that the liposuction surgery performed with solution infiltration up to 5000 ml did not cause significant and negative changes in the liver function tests of the patients.
