Abstract (EN)

Values have been of great importance from the past to the present in building a healthy society and living in peace. Values education provides recognition of values and learning about the cultures, beliefs and lifestyles of societies. Values education has an important role in protecting values and transferring them to future generations in the right way. Primary school teacher have the most influence on children in values education after their parents. It is important that teachers have received the necessary training to provide values education to their students effectively. The aim of this study is to reveal the change in the views of primary school teachers who took the values education course in their postgraduate education. The study group of the research consists of 10 primary school teacher who took a values education course in their graduate education at a state university in Turkey. Case design in qualitative research methods was used in the study. The data were collected with a semi-structured interview form prepared by the researcher. The data obtained from the research were analyzed by content analysis method. Among the main results obtained; teachers' perspectives on values education were positively affected, they gained the ability to integrate values education into all courses, in-class and out-of-class activities were diversified, and it contributed to their professional development and communication skills. In addition, the teachers participating in the study stated that values education should be included in all levels of education.
