The effect of school climate and online game addiction on alienation from school in high school students: Burdur example

This study examines high school students' perceptions of school climate and the effect of online game addiction on school alienation. High school students' relationships with teachers and peers in school, their interest in school and their thoughts about whether teachers are fair to them, and the reasons for playing online games, the effects and consequences of these games, whether they have an effect on alienation from school, and if so, to what extent they are effective, and solutions to possible problems in the context of school social service were produced. Convergent parallel design was used in this research in which mixed design was used. The main purpose of the convergent parallel design is to collect complementary data in order to present the determined problem in the best way. In the quantitative part of the study, a total of 592 students from 7 different types of high schools were interviewed. The data collected from these interviews were analysed using AMOS 23.0 package programme and IBM SPSS 26.0 package programmes. Qualitative interviews were conducted with a total of 14 students, two from each high school. The data obtained from these interviews were analysed with MAXQDA 2020 software.
