Abstract (EN)

When we look at the life of human beings, we see that they are always in a state of development and change and that human beings have a multifaceted structure. Scientific studies, taking into account this change and development, have divided human life into 8 sections: infancy, early childhood, late childhood, early adolescence, late adolescence, adulthood, middle age and old age. This classification has made it easier to evaluate each period in itself and to give answers to the problems experienced in the period. Since human beings have a multifaceted structure, they interact with every field of life. One of these areas is undoubtedly religion. Historical data show us that apart from those who individually prefer not to believe, there is no society without belief as a nation as a whole. So much so that the studies carried out in Göbeklitepe show us that in the period when human beings were hunter-gatherers, they built temples before they built houses for themselves. So, what has happened in the world in the last century that has increased the tendency towards different isms such as atheism, deism, agnosticism? Scientific studies show that the process of accepting or rejecting a religion is especially experienced during adolescence, when the search for meaning intensifies. The reason that led us to this study is that philosophical movements such as deism, agnosticism, atheism and secularism have started to be effective in the children of Muslim families, especially in today's Turkey where the concept of Islam is on the agenda. We think that if we find answers in terms of the psychology of religion by talking to the young people themselves about the reasons that are effective in the alienation of young people from religion, we will provide a perspective to both families and religious teachers in terms of religious education. When we looked at the studies on the subject, we saw that there was no study specific to Sports High School. We hope that researching the religious tendencies of young people in these school types where sports lessons are predominant rather than religious education will be beneficial to the psychology of religion literature. In our thesis study, a conceptual framework was created using the literature review technique and the thoughts of the students were accessed by using the qualitative (in-depth) interview technique. As a result of the data obtained, the main reasons for Uşak Sports High School students' orientation towards different isms were determined as negative family attitudes, peer bullying, negative community and cult life, frustration and lack of information, and various solutions were presented.
