Investigation of high school students' metaphori̇cal school perceptions: Diyarbakır example

The aim of the study is to determine student's school perceptionas via metaphors. Participants were 366 high school students (186 girl and 180 boy) located in 6 high school in Diyarbakır. Metaphoric School Perception Scale and Information Form has been used fort he purpose of determine school perceptions and socio demographic informations. The data analyzed by SPSS 20 programme. Firstly 3 subscales of Metaphoric School Perception Scale (Improving and protection place, home and suppression place) compared by sex via T test. The second analysis is 3 subsclaes of scale compared by classes via ANOVA. At the result of the study girls have more poisitive school perceptions than boys. Another result is 9. Class stundets have more poisitive perceptions than 10, 11 and 12. Class students. Keywords: metaphor, scool perception, education,high school
