The relatoin between high school students' political literacy and their use of social media

In this research, it is expected that socialization in high school will emerge between their political literacy and their attitudes towards the media. The relational scanning model, one of the good research methods, was used in the research. The study group consists of a total of 536 high school types in the 9th, 10th, 11th and 12th grades in schools affiliated with the Ministry of National Education in the city center of Tokat in the spring semester of the 2021-2022 academic year. The participants in the study were determined by a personalized hand method. Personal information formula, "Political Literacy Scale" kept by Köksal and Erol (2021) and "Social Media Attitude Scale" kept by Argın (2013) were used as the data tools used in the research. The data obtained was analyzed with SPSS package programs. Anova, Pearson and t-test analyzes were used. At the end of the research, it was found that the variables examined were effective in general measures on the political literacy and attitudes towards social media of high school students and were found to be somewhere between the political literacy and social media attitudes of high school students. In addition, their political expression, participation in political contributions and political sharing on social media platforms, where they will stay young together, have been conveyed in a way that this increases their political literacy and attitudes towards social media.
