An investigation of school life quality and certain religiousity characteristics in high schools in terms of several variables(The case of Shkodra Haxhi Sheh Shamia High Schools)

The school is an institution that is expected to contribute positively to the emotional and social development of students as well as their cognitive development. The values, attitudes and behaviors that students develop towards school form their school life quality. Although the relationship between the quality of student's school life and various variables such as gender, class, family structure of the student, and income level has been the subject of some research, no study has been carried out on Imam Hatip High Schools so far as it is a secondary education institution that differs from other high schools in terms of school curriculum. This makes this research important. In addition, whether there is a relationship between the variables in question and some religiosity characteristics is considered worthy of research in this context. Furthermore, the aim of the research is to reveal whether students' quality of school life and some religiosity characteristics differ in terms of various variables, through the example of Shkodra (Albania) "Haxhi Sheh Shamia" High Schools in a secondary education institution with a more intense religious curriculum than other high schools. The data of the research, which was designed in accordance with the quantitative relational survey model, were collected by applying a questionnaire to 10th, 11th and 12th grade students studying at "Haxhi Sheh Shamia" High Schools in Shkodër, Albania. The quality of school life and some religiosity characteristics of a total of 344 students, 242 (70.3%) girls and 102 (29.7%) boys, who participated in the study were examined using descriptive and relational analysis techniques. Depending on the type of data obtained in the research, the hypotheses of the research were tested by applying parametric or non-parametric tests. As a result of the analyzes, it has been determined that there is a significant relationship between students' quality of school life and variables such as gender, time spent on the internet, daily study hours, family's residential area and general success level in the classroom. It was concluded that variables such as education type, education level of parents and average monthly income of the family did not affect the quality of student's school life. On the other hand, it has been concluded that there is a significant relationship between students' attitudes towards their religious beliefs and experiences and variables such as gender, type of education, general success level in the classroom, taking religious lessons outside of school, family's approach to religious issues, and the level of happiness in the family.
