Priorization of storage services in logistics villages and the choice of the best warehouse management system: The case of Konya province

With the impact of globalization, the spread of goods and services to the international area has directly affected trade and increased the importance of logistics activities. The importance of logistics activities has brought to the agenda the logistics villages where these activities are brought together in an integrated manner and has a strategic importance in international trade. In this context, one of the most important services among the logistics activities carried out in logistics villages is storage services. According to today's conditions, it is very important for the logistics sector to perform storage services quickly and under the most appropriate conditions with the least error. So much so that storage has a comprehensive content in the logistics process. Well-executed storage services serve as a bridge between the sender and the receiver in the flow of goods by providing cost advantage, competitive advantage, continuity in production and time benefit. In order to meet these conditions, the most appropriate warehouse management system should be used. The warehouse management system (WMS) allows maximum efficiency to be achieved in warehouses by ensuring that products are made easily and automatically by tracking work movements in the warehouse. In line with these explanations, the prioritization of the storage services carried out in KAYACIK logistics village operating in Konya province and the selection of the most ideal warehouse management system were considered as an important research problem. In the solution of the relevant research problem, the Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) and VIKOR method were used in the Multi-Criteria Decision Making Methods used in solving complex and complex problems.
