The relationship between the level of institutionalization and job satisfaction in logistics companies: The case of Mersin province

The logistics sector in our country is one of the sectors that has developed in recent years. Turkey, due to its location, forms a transfer center between the Middle East, Turkish Republics and Europe. The importance of the logistics sector in Turkey is increasing day by day with the advantage created by its location. Logistics companies want to turn to corporate systems that have more professional and original work stages in their management systems in order to adapt to the increasing competitive environment and to exist in the world of tomorrow. The concept of institutionalization emerges as a requirement of modern society in our country as well as all over the world. The concept of job satisfaction is one of the concepts that are frequently researched and examined in the literature of social psychology and organizational behavior. Although institutionalization and job satisfaction are concepts that are frequently discussed in the literature, it is seen that there are limited number of studies in which these concepts are evaluated and examined together. The aim of this thesis is to examine the relationship between the level of institutionalization and job satisfaction by applying an application to companies operating in logistics in Mersin. In the field research conducted, data was collected by survey method and hypotheses were tested using SPSS program. It is seen that there is no study in which institutionalization and job satisfaction are examined together in logistics companies operating in Mersin. In this respect, it is thought that the study will contribute to the literature and the sector.
