Logistics base concept and its evaluation in terms of Bandırma

The aim of this study is to evaluate Bandırma district within the framework of the logistics base concept. The population of the research consists of 51 companies located in the Bandırma region. The Kolmogorov-Smirnov normality test was applied to the data obtained, and then the Detrended Q-Q Plot diagram data were evaluated. In order to decide whether the data showed a normal distribution, skewness and kurtosis values were examined. As a result of the data not showing a normal distribution, the research was continued with parametric tests, t test and anova tests. According to the results obtained, as a result of examining the relations between the fields of activity, year of activity, number of personnel and transportation methods, number of vehicles of the companies participating in the research and the advantages and disadvantages of Bandırma being a logistics base, it was observed that the significance values were (p>α=0.05) and therefore the difference in the number of vehicles of the companies did not cause significant differences in the opinions of Bandırma being a logistics base regarding the advantages and disadvantages scale. It was observed that there were differences of opinion between the companies that said they would use it frequently and the companies that said they would never use it in case of air transportation in Bandırma and the companies that said they would use it frequently had more positive opinions about Bandırma being a logistics base than the companies that said they would never use it.
