Abstract (EN)
In this study examines the relationship between logistics management and foreign trade performance in Turkey through econometric methods. The study aims to investigate the impact of logistics management on Turkey's export and import volumes. Various indicators measuring logistics performance (e.g., road transportation data, logistics infrastructure investments, and transportation costs) were used, and regression analyses and Granger causality tests were conducted. The analysis results indicate that logistics variables have a significant impact on foreign trade performance. The regression analyses show that improvements in road logistics data increase export volumes, while increases in transportation costs negatively affect both export and import volumes. Granger causality tests reveal that changes in logistics performance precede changes in foreign trade volumes. Based on these findings, it is concluded that improvements in Turkey's logistics management can enhance its foreign trade performance. Additionally, it is recommended that Turkey strengthens its logistics infrastructure, develops rail and sea transportation, and integrates digitalization and sustainability principles into logistics processes to fully capitalize on its strategic location. The findings of this study provide valuable insights that can guide Turkey's foreign trade policies and logistics management strategies.
