Substance abuse and perception of substance abuse on the scale Yalova

Substance abuse and addictive substances are a very important threat in the world as well as in our country for healthy individuals and the continuity of communities. It is becoming a global health issue beyond our borders because the potential users are young individuals being targeted, whom are the continuity of community. Various measures have been taken on behalf of a joint struggle of all the countries in the world, concerning international agreements and cooperation protocols for the fight against substance abuse and addictive substances. While countries design their own regulations to prevent and prohibit, our country put required regulations in Turkish criminal law and probation application on behalf of adapting addicts to the community with medical rehabilitation.In order to reach a targeted success for a global public health problem against substance abuse and addictive substances, all related branches primarily with law and medicine, in the meaning of social sense of conceptual confusion should be prevented. With this generally accepted social perception, public awareness should be created. Against this global problem, with the individuals and units of society and with the common action strategy in national and international area, applicability of regulations should be acquired with zero tolerance which in turn will create personal awareness. Causes of the substance abuse problem occurring in a community should be searched and explored within the same community, it should be considered as an improvement of public health rather than only a security and criminal law problem. Although, substance abuse and addictive substances are problems in public, moral, religious and security perspectives; different views perceived, on behalf of creating common perception and social conciseness; starting from building of future individual personality in the family environment, according to our national curriculum education system; the education process from childhood to adolescence where personal decision has been taken and institutions by including awareness raising studies; should be supported with preventing and banning by security units. In our study, we tried to assess perception of substance abuse and addictive substances to present condition of addicts using polling survey in Yalova province scale. The study consists of three sections; firstly, the classification of addictive substances is discussed on it?s the effects on the central nervous system in terms of conceptual frame work. In the second part of the study; the historical development of drugs, addictive stimulating drugs and the fight against substance abuse in our county in Europe and the world in general is argued. In the third part of the study; I discuss the profile of substance addicts in Yalova by evaluating the current status of the perception of the community for substance abuse and the condition of addicts in Yalova province scale. In the conclusion of study; the creation of importance of social awareness, under the light of the present situation of social perception of substance abuse and drug addicts? data is mentioned.
