Effects of the occupational health and safety measures onto the employees at the mine sector: Sample of Elazığ Marble Enterprises

From past to present at the work life, problems towards occupational health and safety always have been maintained its importance. It can be said that the idea of reaching to productive efficiency and competitiveness which increase with industrial revolution get capital owners to ignore accidents and diseases which come up with bad working conditions. But poverty, diseases and disturbances because of bad working conditions in the society, have been necessitated to make regulations for social risks mitigation and working conditions improvement in the country. In this context, either occupational health and safety issues which regulate with social policies of The European Economic Community (EEC) or regulations about working conditions of International Labour Organization (ILO) have been become prominent. National regulations which affect from international regulations are also in Turkey and precautions and measures for working conditions improvement are tried to provide. Nowadays, with consciousness raising theme from risk assessment to education and from controlling to organization at the occupational health and safety integrated context is tried to make occupational safety culture because prevention approach are predominant as restitution at the regulations which regulate with in accordance with the law no. 6331 which is important step for preventing occupational accidents and occupational diseases. This study which is about occupational health and safety measures based upon literature review and questionnaire study which is about these measures effects on indivuduals. Firstly, occupational health and safety, occupational accident and occupational disease, hazard and risk terms is mentioned at the conceptual framework in this study. Then, historical development of occupational health and safety is discussed and regulations, which are regulate with in the context of occupational health and safety at national and international law, are refered. Finally, risks towards occupational health and safety at the mine sector and legislations towards these which bring measures are mentioned and so literature is completed and assessment of questionnaire study is discussed.
