Abstract (EN)

This study compares the macroprudential policies implemented by the European Central Bank (ECB) and the Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey (CBRT) during the COVID-19 pandemic (2020-2022). The study examines the theoretical framework of macroprudential policies, the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the global and Turkish economies, and the macroprudential policies and instruments implemented by the ECB and CBRT during the pandemic, in conjunction with their monetary policies. The research aims to assess the effectiveness of macroprudential policies implemented during the COVID-19 period (2020-2022) and offer important insights into the roles of the ECB and CBRT. Furthermore, this study provides a framework for understanding the differences in macroprudential policies between emerging and developed economies.
