Abstract (EN)
The purpose of this study is to determine and evaluate the nutritional status of children aged 3-18 in Malatya and to determine the type and amount of Allura Red AC (E129) which gives a red color in the food consumed. The research was carried out in Bostanbaşı Family Health Center 2 in Malatya. A total of 104 children, aged 3-18 years, 46 males and 58 females, who applied to ASM (Family Health Center) between November 2016 and December 2017, were included in the study. A 1-day nutrient intake scoring method was used to evaluate the nutritional status of individuals and to determine the consumption of nutrients containing Allura Red AC (E129). Food consumptive enrollment assessment was done by 'BEBİS 7.1 student version'. Anthropometric measurements of the children were taken and Body Mass Index (BMI) was calculated. When body weight (kg) -according to age groups- compared with Turkey's Nutrition Guide; 1-3 years group, 7-9 years group and 10-13 years group have shown that the body weight of the children is higher. When children's energy purchases are evaluated the energy needs of girls 1-3 years, 4-6 years, 7-9 years and 10-13 years were found to meet 123.8%, 76.0%, 71.9% and 75.9%, respectively. The energy needs of boys aged between 10-13 years and boys and girls aged 14-18 years were found to meet 56.0%, 54.1% and 61.6% respectively. The proportion of individuals consuming foods containing Allura Red AC (E129) was 5.8%. The daily mean E 129 (Allura Red AC) consumption in all age groups was found not to exceed the Daily Acceptable Intake Quantity (ADI).
