Abstract (EN)
The aviation sector has been preferred more than other transportation sectors in recent years. As the demand for the aviation sector increases day by day, there is an increase in emissions from aircraft. In this study, pollutant gases originating from airplanes for Malatya Erhaç airport between 2016-2020, both on a yearly basis and in this five-year period, were calculated using the IPCC (Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change) methodology Tier 2 method. For each year; Aircraft traffic and passenger numbers by months, LTO (Landing and Take-off Number) numbers by aircraft types, emissions by aircraft types, emission values according to flight phases, Carbon dioxide (CO2), Sulfur oxide (SOx), Water vapor (H2O) according to aircraft types; Hydrocarbon (HC), Carbon monoxide (CO), Nitrogen oxide (NOx) and Particulate matter (PM) emission values and fuel consumption according to LTO numbers are given in tables and graphics. These emissions from aircraft engines have major effects on the atmosphere. For this reason, it is of great importance to know the amount of emissions as well as their types. It has been calculated as that the total amount of HC released to the environment in a five-year period is 21.73 tons, the amount of CO is 183.70 tons, the amount of NOx is 288.99 tons, the amount of CO2 is 66,331.05 tons, the amount of SOx is 18.22 tons, the amount of H2O is 25.753.05 tons, the amount of PM is 1,77 tons. The calculated values have been obtained only in the LTO processes of commercial flights. Military flights are not included in the calculation.
