Investigation of communication skills of Malatya Provincial Directorate of Youth and Sports employees

Objective: People are the most important asset of any organization and having strong communication skills in employees increases their happiness and leads to better quality services. Effective communication skills are not a natural ability; these skills can be learned and developed later. The aim of the study is to examine the communication skills of the employees of Malatya Provincial Directorate of Youth and Sports. Material and Method: Survey model, one of the quantitative research models, was used in the study. The population of the study consists of 870 people working in Malatya Provincial Directorate of Youth and Sports in 2022. The sample of the research was determined randomly. It consisted of 182 employees of Malatya Provincial Directorate of Youth and Sports. In the study, the "Communication Skills Assessment Scale (CSAS)" developed by Korkut was used as a data collection tool. SPSS statistical package program was used to analyze the data. Results: It was determined that there was a statistically significant difference between the participants' age, marital status and position in the organization, while there was no statistically significant difference between gender, education level, working time and communication skills. Conclusion: We can say that the variables of age, marital status and position in the organization are not effective on the communication skills of the employees of Malatya Provincial Directorate of Youth and Sports, but the variables of gender, education level and working time are effective on communication skills.
