Distribution and review of Malatya local music according to districts

In this study,the distribution of local music according to districts has been tried to be discussed with the help of theories related to `ethnicity? ve `cultural identity?.For this purpose,firstly after emphasizing the general features of Turkish Folk Music; in the continuing parts of the study because Malatya and its region?s music are going to be asserted, the geographical location of Malatya,its districts and socio-cultural structure have been asserted . Because Malatya and its location is in the east of Anatolia,there is a common border with surrounding cities, it has been affected by surrounding cities,it has public who have different ethnic and cultural identity ; Malatya has different local features in terms of musical culture.In that point,it has been thought that sözlü kırık hava s, uzun hava s and oyun hava s which belong to Malatya and its districts reflect Malatya?s characteristic,melodic and rhythmic attitudes.Culture is a fact which always change,so appeared findings will not be valid for all times;but because changing is so slow in folk culture which is a radical culture,that dissertation is really an important sample in culture analysis.In that research, sözlü kırık havas, uzun havas and oyun havas which belong to Malatya and its districts was taken from CD record which enclose THM musical notes in TRT music hall and from archive of Malatya Municipality Culture Publications and lastly ,dissertations done before have been analysed.Datas which have been obtained by being tested with Malatya local musics analyzing scale which have been arranged with expert opinions and sources ,has been anaysed in SPSS(16.0) data analyse programme, findings have been tested with the help of diagram and they have been annotated.Key Words: Turkish Folk Music, Cultural Identity, Malatya Local Music.
