Niyâzü'l-Müznibîn of Manavgat's Ali Zelili

Ali Zelîlî is a sufi poet who lived during the end of the 16th century and the beginning of the 17th century. There is not enough information in the sources about poet‟s life. This study includes the written translated form and analysis of the poet‟s only work called Niyâzü‟l-Müznibîn. The transcript text has been revealed after 6 copies have been compared among the 22 copies of the original work. There are 120 hymns, 108 articles and 8 odes in the text which consists of 5667 couplets and 1379 stanzas. In the introductory section of the study, information about religious, sufistic and moral mesnevis in Turkish literature from the beginning to the 17th century has been given. In the first chapter, information about Ali Zelîlî and his text as well as the date and the reason for writing this text have been discussed. In the second chapter, the text has been analyzed in accordance with its internal and external characteristics and evaluated in terms of metre, rhyme and quotation. In the third chapter, the copies have been described, genealogical background of the writings has been presented and criticized text has been given. Ali Zelîlî, who added a new mesnevi in the 17th century with his Niyâzü‟lMüznibîn to the religious, sufistic and moral mesnevis of Classical Turkish literature which have been written in almost every period, has given examples in his work which have been identified with his own style.
