Abstract (EN)

The study aimed to examine the differences between the inner spirituality and personality levels of spiritual and psychological counsellors. A Comparative-Relational screening model was used throughout the research. Therefore, 59 psychological counsellors and 59 spiritual counsellors who have worked for at least 6 months in private or public institutions located in the Mediterranean and Aegean Region constitute the research group. The data of the research were collected by the personal information form created by the researcher, the Inner Spirituality Scale developed by Hodge (2003) and adapted to Turkish culture by Ekşi, Kardaş and Akyol Koçoglu (2018), and Ten-Item Personality Scale inventories developed by Gosling and his colleagues (2003) and adapted to Turkish culture by Atak (2013). In the data analysis, ANOVA and independent groups t-test were used in the analysis, since the assumption of normality was provided for comparison between the groups according to the scale averages. Pearson Correlation Analysis was used to examine the correlation between the scales, Pearson Correlation Analysis and the inner spirituality scale was used as the dependent variable, and multivariate linear regression analysis was used. The data were analyzed using the SPSS program. The results of the study show that only one of the sub-dimensions of the ten-item personality scale was observed between spiritual and psychological counsellors, and no differences were seen in other sub-dimensions. Moreover, a significant difference was found in the Inner Spirituality Scale.
