A research on the immigration memories of Manisa Balkan immigrants

In this study, the narratives of migration of men and women who have migrated toTurkey from Macedonia and Bulgaria from 1955 till 1996 at various times for various reasons were discussed. Oral narrative texts that constitute the material of our study were compiled from the men and women living in Manisa who immigrated from Bulgaria andMacedonia to Manisa between 1955 and 1996. The study consists of introduction, two chapters and narrative texts. In the introductionpart; under the scope and method of the study; information about the method used in thestudy and the scope of the study was given. Under the heading of migrations from the Balkans to Manisa, considering the countries in which our source persons have migrated, informationabout the historical process of migrations to Manisa was given under two headings asmigration from Manisa to Yugoslavia and migration from Manisa to Bulgaria. Under the main concepts title the information about meaning and function properties of narrative of personalexperience and narratives of migration was given. In the first chapter, the common and different characteristics of the source persons ofour oral narrative migration narratives were discussed in detail. Again in the same chapter, execution contexts of narratives was given considering the characteristics of the execution context of the narrative collection of 15 source persons. In the second chapter, in the light of the data obtained from the narratives of migrants, the source persons pre-, during and after migration were analyzed and examined in a thematic way under the head of narratives of migration thematic overview of the functions under the heading of resource persons migration, migration experiences before, under headings such as Turkey to look ahead migration of immigrants. At the end of the study, the transcripts of the narratives of migration we compiled atthe end of the field study and the information of the source persons in the list were added.
