The Story of Yousuf (Reviev, text, index)

The masnavi form of verse, which has an important place in the field of classical Turkish literature, is the texts that poets are in demand for and can demonstrate their poetic skills. Mesnevis, the equivalent of the novel and story in modern literature in classical Turkish poetry, have usually been long-running texts. Among the masnevis written on various topics in ancient Turkish literature, the "masnevis on the theme of love" offered poets the opportunity to show their literary skills more.The masnavi of "Yusuf and Züleyha" is very much loved because of the human, religious and literary elements it contains, and it is the 13th in classical Turkish literature 19.yy. many examples of this masnavi have been given up. This study, a review, a transliterated text and an index study of the work called Manzume-i Kissa-i Yusuf were conducted. There is no information about the date of writing and the author of the work, which is registered in the National Library with the number 06 Hk 5024 and consists of 220 leaves, in the work and in the library register. During the text readings, it was determined that the author of the work was "Hızır Şeyyad". Although the work, which has the linguistic and spelling characteristics of the old Anatolian Turkish, bears similarities with the "Yusuf and Züleyha" mesnevis of Sule Fakih, Şeyyad Hamza and Erzurumlu Darir in terms of content, the number of couplets of the work is higher. Our study consists of three parts together with the introduction. In the introduction section, after giving information about the definition of masnavi, its birth, general characteristics and development in Turkish literature, the first examples of Yusuf and Züleyha masnavi in world literature, their sources, content and presence in Turkish literature are discussed. In the first section, where information about the title, copy recommendation, form of description, title, content and language characteristics of the work are given, an examination of the work has been made. In the second part, the translation of the work called Manzume-i Kissa-i Yusuf is given. The study ends with the conclusion and bibliography sections, which come after the "Index" in which the special names mentioned in the text are sorted.
