Özet (EN)

The aim of this study is to analyseMarcel Proust's novelSwann's Way and Ahmet Hamdi Tanpınar's novelA Mind at Peace (Huzur) comparatively through the theories of memory and psychoanalysis, and to examinethe similarities and differences. In this context, it has been evaluated how both wirtersapply Bergson's theory of memory onto fictional characters. And also,departing from the influence of memory on human psychology, the novels have been analysed through a psychoanalytic point of view. Furthermore, it will be focused on both writers' biographies, to understand the symbols used in novels. After analysingSwann's Way and A Mind at Peace, both novels have been evaluated and compared in terms of "love", "painting" and "music". The similarities and differences of the characters Mümtaz and Swannhave been examined. Keywords: A Mind at Peace, Swann'sWay, memory, psychoanalysis
