Examination of the weld errors in the inner city natural gas pipes of Mardin Province with destructive and non-destructive testing methods

The controls made during the manufacturing and assembly stages of natural gas papelines are very important in terms of quality, human, environmental safety and technical safety. A non-technical application or the smallest impact of a mis-assessment on the safety factor is known. For this reason, in this study, welding of steel natural gas pipes with arc welding, welding gaskets were subjected to radiographic examination. For this purpose, a large number of films were drawn using X-ray and gamma-ray devices. As a result of the experiments, the most common source errors were determined and their reasons were investigated. At the same time, it has been evaluated whether these errors are acceptable to the API 1104 standard by the technical expert.
