Abstract (EN)

While the developing technology and the increasing population caused the increase of heavy metal pollution in the world, the studies reveal that the possible effects of this pollution on the ecosystem and public health in marine environments have gained importance. Except the studies carried out in sea water and sediment, studies in biota are especially important in terms of revealing the effects of heavy metal pollution detected in species of economic importance for public health. In this study, heavy metal analyzes were carried out in Eriphia verrucosa (Forskal, 1775) crab samples obtained from the North of Marmara Sea in order to determine metal contamination in economic marine organisms. Samples were collected with trammel net and diving at depths from 0.5-1 meter in May-September 2019 at four stations (Büyükçekmece, Silivri, Tekirdağ and Şarköy). The Fe, Pb, Cd, Cu, Cr, Mn, Al, Ni, Hg, Zn levels were determined as 93.24-379.19 µg/g, 0.25-0.85 µg/g, 0.01-0.78 µg/g, 3,65-39,50 µg/g, 1,03-1,70 µg/g, 1,53-9,83 µg/g, 7,6-366,05 µg/g,0.75-3.23 µg/g, 0.63-1.28 µg/g, 92.87-226.55 µg/g respectively, In samples analyzed by inductively coupled plasma-mass spectrometry (ICP-MS).
