Abstract (EN)
In this study, as a result of geological investigations and geophysical studies; It was determined that the northern and southern fracture lines constituting Hisarönü-İçmeler-Marmaris trending fault area carry thermal water and were put into service for Thermal Health Tourism in order to contribute to the national economy. Thus, in addition to the intensive summer and cultural tourism in Marmaris, winter tourism was also opened for the first time. At the beginning of the study, the linealities of the Marmaris fault were morphologically monitored and photographed in situ. The natural mineral water source, which is observed to emerge at some points, has been visualized in three dimensions by georadar and magnetic measurement systems to determine the geological zones to which it is connected. In addition to a series of morphological, geological and geophysical investigations carried out in terrestrial environments; marine seismic and side-scan sonar applications were performed to determine whether the Marmaris fault continues in the marine area and thus to identify other areas with geothermal potential. At this stage, seismic reflection measurements were carried out along 9 lines determined to cut off the possible trace on the sea floor, starting from the port location, which is thought to be the point where the southern branch of the fault fracture connects to the sea. The first six of the lines are identified to be oriented in the northwest-southeast direction and extend between the opposite shores that limit the marine area of the İçmeler district and the two measuring lines are planned to cross these profiles crosswise and another measurement line. The seismic data obtained were interpreted for each bottom section and as a result of these interpretations (1-CH-1 section) gas outputs were determined. Based on these findings, a similar study was carried out in the Yalancıboğaz locality in Marmaris Bay, which has the same geological structure and is thought to have geothermal potential, and the gas outflow and seismic-stratigraphy seen in the previous seismic sections were determined in the second marine study area.
