Abstract (EN)

In this study; it was investigated the usability of pumice, Ahlat stone and perlite in stone mastic asphalt (SMA) production. In the preliminary of SMA production study; pumice, Ahlat stone and perlite were tested for Los Angeles abrasion. Los Angeles abrasion rate was found to be 73% for pumice, 78% for Ahlat stone and 67% for perlite. According to preliminary study results; pumice, Ahlat stone and perlite cannot be used as coarse aggregate and fine aggregate in SMA. In the second phase of SMA production study; it was investigated the usability of pumice, Ahlat stone and perlite as filler in SMA. In this second phase, 4 different types of SMA production were made. In the production of Basalt-SMA; basalt was used as coarse, fine aggregates and filler in the mixture. In the production of Pumice-SMA; basalt was used as coarse and fine aggregate, but pumice was used as filler. In the production of Ahlat Stone-SMA; basalt was used as coarse and fine aggregate, but Ahlat stone was used as filler. In the production of Perlite-SMA; basalt was used as coarse and fine aggregate, but perlite was used as filler. As a result of the study, Basalt-SMA stability and flow values were found to be 979 kg and 2.88 mm. Pumice-SMA stability and flow values were found to be 940 kg and 3.24 mm. Ahlat stone-SMA stability and flow values were found to be 965 kg and 3.20 mm. Perlite-SMA stability and flow values were found to be 937 kg and 3.19 mm. According to study results; these values were adequate for SMA specification limits.
