Abstract (EN)

Recently, the use of renewable energy resources has become an important factor because of the gradually decreasing fossil fuel resources and their impact on the environment. Solar energy, which is among clean and renewable energy sources, is often preferred because of its unlimited potential, environmental pollution, inexhaustibility. Our country has a very high potential in terms of solar energy. Photovoltaic (PV) panels have the ability to convert solar light directly onto electrical energy. Therefore, in recent years, solar power plants are being installed in developed countries and developing countries like in our country. The working conditions of panels used in PV solar power plants are very important in terms of energy efficiency. For this reason, it is important to make studies and make estimations about the region before going into installation and operation. In order to accurately estimate the amount of energy produced by the PV panels, it is necessary to know the real ambient conditions and establish a correct mathematical model. In this thesis study, the mathematical model of the PV panel, which is a Monocrystal structure, was first created and analyzed in Matlab @ Simulink program. It was observed that the solar radiation and cell temperature values directly affect the electrical performance of the panel. Then, the system established at roof of the Faculty of Engineering of Osmaniye Korkut Ata University investigated the performance results of the PV panel in real environment conditions. As a result of the study, the similarity of model results and experimental system results was observed.
