Mehmed Mesa Selimovic's life and works, Semra Gusinac Mesa Selimovic is Bosnian, later Serbian and then in general Yugoslavian author.He introduces himself as Serbian Muslim author. He is one of the writers that made great impact on Yugoslavian and Balkan literature. This study will be analysed the content, style and development of the work of Mehmet Mesa Selimovic. The biggest attention will be given to Dervish and Death and Fortress. Dervish and Deathis timeless work of art that got so many positive critics in different time periods, one that was adapted to the cinema, piece translated to 30 languages, took place on the "100 Fundamental pieces" list and won many important awards. Affected by works of famous writters such as Dickens, Andresen and Dostoyevski, he passed away in Belgrade on July 11th 1982.
