Translation of "Gülistân" named the "Gül-efşân" of the Mehmed Sâmî (investigation-text)

XVIII. The work of Mehmed Sâmî named Gül-efşân, who lived in the 18th century, is the Turkish translation of the famous Iranian author Sa'dî-i Şirâzî's work Gülistân. We do not have much information about the life story of Mehmed Sâmî, who prosely translated Gülistân. The only copy of our thesis is Gül-efşân, registered at the Istanbul University Rare Works Library at TY 3029. In the introduction part of our thesis, which consists of introduction and two chapters, concise information about moral works decorated with stories and representations, Sa'dî and Gülistân, and Gülistân translations in Turkish literature are given. In the first part, the life and works of Mehmed Sâmî and his translation named Gül-efşân are discussed. The content and form features of the work are emphasized. The work was written on a thick paper using nesih calligraphy. The style of the work evokes middle prose. In this type of prose, which was the most popular in Ottoman writing style, the language of the people was avoided and Arabic and Persian words and compositions were included. Despite this, since the purpose of the written works is thought to be the transfer of knowledge and ideas to the other side, it draws attention as an easier style than ornate prose. From time to time, there is a very easy to understand Turkish language.In the second part, the transmitted text of Gül-efşân is given.
