Abstract (EN)

The aim of this research is to assess customer opinions about internal space graphic designs.Development of the communities has allowed their individual members, and thus private sector, to develop and renovate themselves. A customer-centred marketing method has evolved in the private sector. Accordingly, private sector has started to meet its visual requirements through designers on the basis of customer opinions and expectations. One of these private sectors that need to renovate themselves and try to keep up with new developments in the sector is the hotels. Hotels are such a sector that has the chance of being chosen by customers; therefore, they are in competition with one another. In this respect, besides providing several distinct services to stand out in the crowd, hotels also strive for a distinctive character through visual presentation. To do this, internal space graph design is one of the areas they resort to.The population of the study is the hotels in Kütahya, while the sampling is composed of QTAHYA Hotel. Opinions of the customers of QTAHYA Hotel were sought through survey method and assessed according to their percentage distribution.According to then findings, 60% of the customers preferred that warm and especially yellow colour be used in the reception; that the furniture in the room and accessories on the walls complement one another; and that 70% red colour be used in the room. According to these results, it was suggested to design internal spaces with such colours, figures and shapes that would attract the customers visually; to emphasize customer and designer centred changes; and to apply internal space designs on internal spaces.Key Words: Internal Space, Space design, Visual Communication, Graphic Design, Basic Design Elements.
