موقف مدرسة المنار من الحديث النبوي

This thesis deals with the hadith views and effects of the Menâr School, which advocates reviewing Islamic culture based on the basic sources of religion and modern knowledge. Menâr School advocated reviewing the rules of determination and interpretation of hadiths in the light of modern developments. In particular, its interpretation of fiqh and unseen hadiths in accordance with the spirit of the new century caused controversy. In this thesis, the relationship of this school with tradition, leading personalities and works are reviewed and the understanding of sunnah, the adducible of sunnah, the evaluation of mutawatir and ahâd news, the value of justifiability and deeds of the hadith, and its approaches to controversial narrations are examined as examples. In addition, by examining the approach of the school to rumors such as unseen news and miracles that contradict with sense data, the effect of modern thought on the views of the school has also been drawn attention. In the thesis, it was concluded that the Menâr School saw classical methods as inadequate in evaluating hadiths, and offered to review the hadith corpus in line with rationality and modern understanding. They tried to practice these methods by applying them on many controversial rumors. Although this approach of the school seriously affected modern hadith criticism, it was not seen as a consistent method and ended with the death of the first-generation representatives.
