The view of miracle in the menar commentary

The verses related to miracles in the scientific literatüre of tafsir are a comprehensive subject that has been subject to different interpretations since the arly periods. However, in the modern era, this subject has been subjected to different and various interpretations for some reasons. One of the important fields of study of Tafsir, which is a department, is to focus on the phenomenon of the Qur'an and to make researches about the past and present of the interpretations of these kinds of events called miracles. İn this study the subject of miracle in the modern period was analyzed in the context of Menâr Tafsir, which is represented by Muhammad Abduh and Reşit Rıza. İn this study, description method and literatüre analysis were used as scientific method. İn this study first of all, conceptual framework and general information about the miracle is discussed and Menâr Tafsir and its representatives and the school they are affiliated with the analyzed. İn the last analysis, fifteen subject in which the extraordinary events are present in the Qur'an in terms of being a sample and understanting of the subject are discussed, described in the context of Menar Tafsir and Menar Tafsir has a miracle understanting which is critical to different, original and classical interpretations, was reached as a result. Then, the background of the interpretation of the miracle verses in Menar Tafsir is discussed. According to the results, Menar Tafsir has a differend understanting of miracle in the background of the following reasons: The emergence of the need to reform religion in the modern sense, the anxiety of realizing the transcendent, making interpretations appropriate to the circumcision, highlighting the manifestation of verses and the loss of prestige of the İslamic World.
