Abstract (EN)

In this thesis study, it is aimed to present the possible positive or negative effects of the ethanol extracts obtained from the fruits of terebinth (Pistacia terebinthus) on haematological and biochemical parameters of carp. As a result of applying acute phase terebinth to carp and when compared to the control group, it is seen that there was a decrease in the numbers of total white blood cell (WBC), platelets (Thr) and a statistically significant increase in red blood cell (RBC), hemoglobin (Hb), hematocrit (Hct), mean corpuscular volume (MCV) and mean corpuscular hemoglobin (MCH) values. As to the sub-chronic phase and with reference to the control group, an increase in the number of total white blood cell (WBC), platelets (Thr) and a statistically significant decrease (p<0.05) in the values of red blood cell (RBC), hemoglobin (Hb), hematocrit (Hct), mean corpuscular volume (MCV) and mean corpuscular hemoglobin were also identified. For acute and sub-chronic phase, it is observed that the serum biochemical parameters such as sodium (Na), phosphorus (P), chloride (Cl), calcium (Ca), total protein (TP), albumin (Alb) increased statistically by comparison with the control group . On the other hand, a decrease in the values of potassium (K), alkaline phosphatase (ALP), alanine aminotransferase (ALT) and aspartate amino transferase (AST) was identified p<0.05. This study has revealed that terebinth plant extracts induce hematopoietic organs in acute phase and on the contrary suppress them in sub-chronic phase. As a result, it is presented in physiological terms that the 10 and 20 ppm doses of terebinth can cause toxic effect on carp and 5 ppm dose can be safe for them.
