Abstract (EN)

The aim of this study was to determine the validity and reliability of the "Menopausal Spouse Support Scale" by adapting it into Turkish. The sample of this methodological study included 176 women. The research data were collected through face-to-face interviews using a personal information form and menopausal partner support scale. After the language and content validity of the scale, the data were analyzed using confirmatory and exploratory factor analysis, Cronbach's alpha coefficient, item-total correlation, time invariance, two-half reliability, and comparison of the lower and upper 27%. After the language validity of the Menopausal Spousal Support Scale was ensured by the translation-back translation method, content validity was ensured by making the necessary revisions in line with expert opinions. As a result of the factor analysis, it was found that the Menopausal Spousal Support Scale consisted of four sub-dimensions as in the original scale structure. The explained variance of the scale was found to be at the desired level as 70.824% and the factor loads were between 0.65 and 0.84. As a result of confirmatory factor analysis, the fit index values for the scale were determined as x2/SD value 1.60, GFI 0.99, AGFI 0.99, CFI 1.00, RMSEA 0.059 and SRMR 0.050 and as a result of these values, it was determined that the scale was acceptable in this form without any modification. Cronbach's alpha coefficient of the scale was 0.93. It was concluded that the item-total correlations of all items of the scale were above 0.40, so there was no need to delete any item from the scale. The difference between the scores of the upper and lower 27% of the Menopause Spouse Support Scale was found to be statistically significant (p<0.05) and indicates the discriminative feature of the scale. The mean score of the Menopausal Spousal Support Scale was 109.24±33.56. In conclusion, the Menopausal Spousal Support Scale (MSS), which was adapted into Turkish, was found to be a valid and highly reliable measurement tool suitable for the cultural structure of the Turkish society.
