Abstract (EN)

The world has applied various economic systems since the human history. These economic systems have evolved over time and evolved in a motion. In this thesis, the policies implemented by some countries affected by the mercantilism idea trend and the situations caused by these policies are examined. A literature review was used as a method. In the first chapter, the definition of mercantilism, its aim, the dynamics which are effective in the emergence of mercantilist thought and the mercantilism which has changed according to the countries has been tried to be explained. In the second chapter, colonialism was discussed within the framework of mercantilist policies. The definition, activities and effects of exploitation and specifically French colonialism and the political and economic rivalries of France with some countries have been examined. In the third chapter, the conflicts of interest in the Eastern Mediterranean were examined. In the fourth chapter, colonialism, capitalism and imperialism are explained.
