Abstract (EN)
This thesis study was carried out with the aim of making marble production in harmony with the environment, and investigating the most efficient evaluation of marble sludge and dust wastes formed during production. As a result of the resource research, marble sludge and powder wastes have the potential to be used as alternative raw materials in different sectors, because waste in powder form is more suitable for reuse, the water content must be reduced first for the proper management of marble sludge, and various drying and grinding processes are needed. process was deemed appropriate. In the selection of drying technology, environmentally friendly, sustainable renewable energybased technologies were evaluated instead of traditional fossil fuel-based conventional drying technologies that cause environmental pollution and climate change on a global scale. A prototype has been designed, which is defined as a solar air heater system in the literature based on natural drying with solar energy. The thesis study was carried out in two stages, namely literature review and fieldwork. Fieldwork was carried out in three different categories. In the laboratory studies, which is the first part of the field work, analyzes were made to determine the properties of marble mud, and the drying performance of the marble mud of the designed prototype was tested in different periods. In the second part, in line with the best performance characteristics determined for the prototype, the requirements and cost analysis were made if the system is designed for a real marble mud producer facility. In the third part, in order to determine the current situation and to evaluate the effect of the application in the field, interviews and surveys were carried out with the marble mud and dust waste producers and the sector officials where the use potential of the said waste, as a result of the resource research, was conducted. As a result of the thesis, it was stated that such new applications in waste management are valuable in terms of environmental and economic contributions and should be supported.
