Abstract (EN)
In this study, the effects of myrtle leaves and its essential oil supplementation on broiler chicken diets were investigated on performance, carcass parameters, blood parameters and intestinal parameters. In the trial, 525 broiler chicks were divided randomly into 7 treatments with 5 replicates (15 birds per replicate). Treatment group formed in the trial; Control: without myrtle leaves and its essential oil, A: supplemented with 10 g/kg Myrtle leaves, B: supplemented with 20 g/kg Myrtle leaves, C: supplemented with 30 g/kg Myrtle leaves, D: supplemented with 237,6 mg/kg Myrtle essential oil, E: supplemented with 475,2 mg/kg Myrtle essential oil, F: supplemented with 712,8 mg/kg Myrtle essential oil.The significant effect of treatments were not determined on feed intake, body weight, body weight gain, feed efficiency, HDL cholesterol, LDL cholesterol, trigliserid, gastrointestinal tract length, villus/crypt ratio (p>0,05). The myrtle oil supplementation significantly (p<0,05) increased carcass ratio, gizzard ratio, villus length, crypt depth. Myrtle leaves supplementation tended to increase tunica muscularis thickness. It is concluded that myrtle leaves and oil may be positive effect on broiler. Because, broiler receiving the diets containing myrtle leaves and oil had lower (p>0,05) feed intake and feed conversion ratio compared to those fed the control, and the villus heights of broiler fed the diets containing myrtle leaves and oil were significantly higher (p<0,05).It is concluded that myrtle leaves is lowering blood cholesterol in broiler and myrtle oil is positively affecting broiler intestine, myrtle leaves and its oil may be adding the broiler ration is suitable.
