Field research to determine the effect of Mersin yenice logistics village on the region economy

The aim of this thesis is to reveal the current and future impact of Mersin Yenice Logistics Village on the regional economy by using the Delphi technique which is a qualitative research technique by benefiting from expert opinions. Today, the shift of production from America and Europa to the Asian region is an important issue for our country, which acts as a bridge between these regions. Regions where the logistics infrastructure is strong are needed to transfer the produced goods and services to the world market. In this context, the importance of logistics bases or logistics village comes to the fore. In the first part of this thesis, the logistics sector, in the second part, the concept of logistics village, in the third part, Mersin province region analysis has been made and reports, primary sources and the information obtained as a result of the literature research are given about the logistics village of Mersin-Yenice. Expert opinions on the contrubition of Mersin-Yenice logistics village to the regional economy were collected with the Structured Interview Technique, Delphi technique was applied with the determined expert group and the results were grouped and reported in the fourth section. Research findings, consensus was achieved on the items as a result of the Delphi technique applied. The findings show that, with the Yenice logistics village becoming fully active, it will contribute to the economy of the region and it is expected to make economic contributions not only regionally but also nationally. Contributions such as employment, regional development, increase in recognition in the international market, decrease in complexity in logistics operations, decrease in environmental pollution, decrease in the amount of road load are considered as the most anticipated contributions.
